Ford VIN check: Focus, Kuga and Puma.
Enter the VIN and see what has been recorded about the car: mileage, damage, services and which engine it really has. For a Ford coming out of a fleet, the mileage history and the gaps between services can show how hard it was used.
You see the make and model for free, before you pay.
Built in Romania, but many used Pumas on the market were sold new in other countries.

What to check on the engine of a used Ford.
Compare the engine and gearbox in the ad with the factory data and the car's history before you buy.
This engine's timing belt runs in oil. Ask when it was changed and which oil was used at services.
The service invoices, with the oil type written on them.
- Service history: the date and mileage of the services found
- The gap between services, in kilometres and in time
Services, in the report
The service records found for the VIN, by year, with the date, mileage and work done. You fill the gaps between them with invoices.
ST-Line doesn't mean ST.
ST-Line is a design package, ST is the performance version, and RS is the top of Ford's sports range.
Design package ST-Line | Performance version ST | Top of the sports range RS | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Sporty design package, available on the range's regular engines. | Performance version with its own engine, suspension and brakes. | The most radical sports version, with a configuration specific to each generation. |
| Where you find it | Regular versions, with engines from the range, for example the 1.0 EcoBoost. | Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Puma ST. | Focus RS, 2016–2018 generation. |
| What to check in the report | The factory equipment, when available. | Power and engine, in the technical data. | Power and drivetrain, in the technical data. |

Mileage pace.
Divide the dashboard mileage by the car's age and see whether the figure makes sense. A fleet Ford piles on miles quickly, and the report's mileage chart shows whether the dashboard figure fits the history.

The generations you'll find for sale.
The Fiesta, Mondeo, S-Max and Focus are no longer built. That doesn't change what you check, but it helps you know which generation you're comparing when you look at prices.
The years are a guide and differ between countries and versions. Your car's model and year are in the report.
What to check at the viewing.
The report shows what was recorded in the past. The current condition you only see on the car.
The same VIN everywhere
On the windscreen, on the door pillar sticker and in field E of the registration document. On some Ford models it is also stamped into the floor, under a carpet flap next to a front seat. Where to find the VIN.
Test drive with the automatic gearbox
Pull away several times, drive in slow traffic and try reverse.
Garage diagnostics
Fault codes stored by the car's control units don't appear in a history report.
Invoices for major work
If the seller says the timing belt or clutch was replaced, ask for the invoice with the date and mileage.
