The car's history, event by event.
The report brings service visits, inspections, damage and listings together in a clear timeline, with the date, country and mileage of each record.
A service or repair: the date, mileage, country and work done. The garage name doesn't appear.
Technical inspections in Romania, with the mileage read at the time. They only appear for cars registered in Romania.
Damage recorded on that date. The affected areas and estimated cost are in the damage section.
The car appeared in a listing with this mileage. It only appears when we find the listing.
A mileage reading without details of the work. It shows the car was seen, not what was done.
Recommended maintenanceRecommended maintenance, when available. For some cars the report also has a separate section with the work the manufacturer prescribes at the next mileage milestone. Compare it with what has already been done.
A real history, row by row.
The section from the sample report of a 2019 BMW 320d brought over from Germany. Press "Show more" for every row.
- 1Regular visits in Germany
The pre-delivery inspection, then oil, cabin filter, brakes and the automatic gearbox, 4 to 14 months apart.
- 2Damage appears here too, in order
The "Damage detected" rows show where each damage record falls between visits.
- 3After the import, the history changes
The first record in Romania has a lower mileage than the last ones from abroad.
What to look at in the history.
Four things that quickly tell you how the car was maintained.
About the data sources →The rhythm of visits
Compare the gap between visits with the model's service interval. Visits on time point to a well-kept car.
Mileage from row to row
The mileage rises from one visit to the next. The same readings also appear on the report's mileage chart.
The country of each visit
For an imported car you see how it was maintained abroad and what was done after it arrived in its new country.
Today's condition, at the viewing
The history shows what was done. How the car is now is something you confirm with a garage check before you pay.
How to read gaps in the history.
A year without visits isn't automatically a problem. Pick the situation you see in the report and find out what may explain it and which documents to ask for.
A year or more without any visit
Illustrative diagram- The car stood still, for example with an owner who drove little.
- It was serviced at a garage that doesn't share data.
- The model's service interval is long. On some cars it is up to two years.
The service invoice from that period or the stamp in the service book, with the mileage. Compare the gap with the manufacturer's interval.
What to ask the seller.
With the history in front of you, the questions become specific. Four questions based on what you see in the report.
What was done at the last service?
The report shows the date, mileage and work of the last visit. Ask for the invoice and work out how long until the next service.
Do you have invoices for the major work?
If the history shows work on the automatic gearbox, the brakes or the engine, the invoice shows the parts replaced and the cost.
When was the timing belt or chain replaced?
If you can't find a row about the timing belt and the mileage is past the manufacturer's interval, ask for proof. It's one of the most expensive maintenance jobs.
Where was the damage repaired?
A "Damage detected" row tells you when it happened. Ask for the repair documents; the affected areas are in the report's damage section.
